The Good The WD My Cloud is fast, affordable, and easy to use, and has a well-implemented, powerful personal cloud feature. The Bad The My Cloud mobile app's streaming function is very limited. See this WD Support article for more information on how to use Time Machine with the WD My Cloud. For Windows you can use the WD SmartWare software. Edit to add: Further one should read the WD My Cloud User Guide/Manual, in particular Chapter 4, for more information on backing up a PC or Mac to the WD My Cloud.

Sharing files
I was really excited to get a my a cloud home drive. It was easy to set up and I was able to get it up and running. I would give my cloud a high rating for those items. The auto backup option also throws my rating up there but only on this pluses.
However, the biggest let down was the integration of applications. I was hoping to have the option of my apps save directly to my cloud home drive however that is not the case.
I have to admit I was hoping to use this drive as a way to backup and store my data automatically as I would with iCloud to cut down on iCloud space costs. When I try to save and access files from my Cloud drive, I am unable to “see” myCloud to access files. I will have to physically save the file somewhere and then transfer the file later which can be confusing because I’m not sure which is the current file.
Also, it would be nice to be able to store my mail and calendar files to my cloud so all my devices can access the same file just as you can do with iCloud.
Hopefully this will be reviewed and improved.
Thank you

Open In and file sharing are still broken in this new version
In this new version of the app, while the new design is lovely, it’s still kind of useless. It’s missing integration with iOS’ Files app, and the sharing and “open in” function are broken.
For example, if I’m trying to load up a video file in the MyCloud app, the video will load perfectly fine as a stream. But what if I don’t want to stream this video, what if I just want to download the original file, my original file on the hard drive? One would normally use the “Open In” function on this file, but the implementation you guys have in the app makes it useless. All it does is open a video stream in the VLC app that I have installed on my iPad. And if I click the option to share the file, it only gives me the option to send a link to be shared, still denying me access to the original file.
There needs to be a simple “Download File” option in place, or make it easier for us to simply gain access to our files on Mobile devices. The work around is being forced to use the mobile website, which shouldn’t be necessary in 2019. These are basic features your app has been lacking for years, on a very expensive piece of hardware. It’s great to see initiative by the team with this new design, but until this core functionality is put in place or fixed, I will not be updating my star-rating.

Poor iOS integration
I bought the WD MyCloud Duo with the hopes of having my own big cloud server, accessible from all my devices, just like Dropbox or OneDrive or iCloud, but with more space and no subscription fees. It connects well enough to our PCs, but file handling is cumbersome from an iPad or iPhone. Monkey island for mac free download. I want to be able to edit MS Word documents on my iPad and my PC and even my iPhone without having to make a copy of the document and then transfer it back to my MyCloud Home server. With OneDrive, it’s all the same file, I close it on one device, and I open it on another device, and I’m not creating duplicate versions that can become confused later. I want to transfer sheet music PDFs to the ForScore app directly, but the only way to do that is to send them from MyCloud to another cloud service like dropbox, and open them from there. I’d like to share files with a work group that uses many different devices, like we do currently with Dropbox and Slack, but it’s too inefficient if we can’t just click on an audio or video or DOC file and open it.

Operates Nicely @ Home!
This app works great when I’m at home. When I’m on the road the majority of the time it won’t connect. It’s says that the drive is offline for the most part or some other lame messages but when I call home the family is watching content off of it. I have two iPhones and two iPads and when I’m on the road it’s no good. When I’m overseas I have the same issue. I use a VPN to watch my content at home and works fine but overseas and on the road it won’t work 95% of the time. Even on my laptop it won’t so frustrated with it. I sometimes get the same error messages at home, I turn it off restart and it works. That doesn’t however fix the on the road part. Some cloud app. I think I’m giving it to much of high rating but since I mostly purchased to back up everything it’s doing that. Having the capability to get to that info from anywhere is false advertising. I’m sure there is a reasonable explanation but I haven’t heard it yet. Because again it works sometimes but mostly not.
Needs a little work still

The app says the auto upload will work faster if the app is left open. Which is true. But if the app isn't open, I don't think auto photo upload works at all. That could use some improvement. Maybe there could be a setting that if the battery is above a certain level, it will auto-upload the photos even with the app closed. Other than that, I really like both the app and my My Cloud. Download game hello kitty apk. One other thing that would be nice - if I'm scrolling through the photos, when I tap on a pic to see it, when I go back to the list, the app takes me all the way back to the beginning of the list, instead of back to the place I was. So then I have to scroll all the way through all the listed pics to get back to where I was looking. Kind of a pain, because I usually have no idea where i was since you can’t see thumbnails of the pics in the list (thumbnails would be nice). Also, it might be nice if it would show an extra low res pic initially. I know you can tap on the HD button to get the full quality, but even the mid-range quality pics take a long time to display, even with a pretty fast device and connection. So the problem is that if you are trying to scroll through pics to find one, it takes forever because there aren’t any thumbnails to help you find the pic, and it takes so long to load each individual pic one by one that it takes forever.
Could improve
The product itself is awesome, it does solve a problem that many people have. My problem is mainly with some functionalities. It feels like the app is old and it’s a bit slow. The navigation bar is divided on photos, music and videos. These should be filters not navigation. The animation on screen transition feels sloppy specially the search field. The fact that we can’t rename WDSync folder really bothers me but I can get over. The fact that there are 2 WDSync>WDSync>MyFolders is an issue. I would also want to remove/rename the folders under “public” (I deleted them a few times but it came back). I know these are mainly negative feedback but the goal is to be constructive. The product is great, works well, I realize it’s mainly targeted on non-technical users to have it at home but it’s a great solution for business too and with minor improvements it can be great for both business and consumers.
